5 Things I Found Today (The October 31st Edition)

  • I'm kind of a documentary nerd, always have been. This website, Documentary Heaven, is exactly that. And, they're all free. Pop up the popcorn.
  • Ahhhh BRILLIANT. These Accessory Dots are double-stick tape dots that adhere to bare skin and hold clothing in place. They also secure scarves, shoe straps and falling hems. Aaaaaand add to cart.
  • Gojee is like Pandora, but for discovering recipes.

Closet Confessions: Susie Bubble

My love for well done ads + my love for fashion = ultra-obsession with Bluefly Closet Confessions. This time Bluefly dug inside the closet—or suitcase, rather—of the mega fashion blogger Susie Bubble during New York Fashion Week. Her style is very eclectic (as she notes!). And how adorable is her accent?!

Tolstoy's Ten Rules of Life

Leo Tolstoy's 10 Rules of Life

  1. Get up early (five o’clock)
  2. Go to bed early (nine to ten o’clock)
  3. Eat little and avoid sweets
  4. Try to do everything by yourself
  5. Have a goal for your whole life, a goal for one section of your life, a goal for a shorter period and a goal for the year; a goal for every month, a goal for every week, a goal for every day, a goal for every hour and for evry minute, and sacrifice the lesser goal to the greater
  6. Keep away from women
  7. Kill desire by work
  8. Be good, but try to let no one know it
  9. Always live less expensively than you might
  10. Change nothing in your style of living even if you become ten times richer

Major Music Post. Let's Do It.

Just a little thank you to all the guys who drunkenly come up to me at the bar and tell me they secretly read my blog and they like the music posts. You make my day.

One of thee. BEST. covers I have ever heard. And if you like his voice/style, you'll love the song below.

This song is one of my favorite Kanye's remixed or not, but Ratatat puts a good spin on just about everything.

Breast Cancer Awareness -- How You Can Help (And Look Good Doin' It)

About one in eight women women in the United States will develop invasive breast cancer over the course of a lifetime. Please do your part to help change this statistic by shopping pink this month. All of these fabulous products — and many more — are donating a portion of their profits during October to breast cancer research. Do good, feel good, look good; win, win, win.  Here are eight of my favorites.

50% of the proceeds from this Rebecca Taylor blouse will go towards the Triple Negative Breast Cancer Foundation.

A portion of proceeds from this ash&dans scarf will benefit the Susan G. Komen Foundation

50% of proceeds from this Chan Luu bracelet will raise money and awareness for breastcancer.org

This gorgeous bra and underwear set are a part of an 8-piece lingerie collection by H&M that will benefit the Making Strides Foundation. 25% of proceeds from the collection will benefit the American Cancer Society

20% of profits from this stunning rose gold Stella & Dot Tribute Bracelet will be donated to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. The bracelets are currently backordered (obviously, they're gorgeous) but to order one you can email lyahurst@gmail.com for the hookup.
$10 from each Bobbi Brown 'Pink Ribbon' Lip Set will be donated to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

$5 from purchases of Shiseido's Iron Maiden rouge will go toward CEW Cancer and Careers.

$1 from each BCA Pink Eyelash Curler will go to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation

The Quote Too Many Girls Need To Hear

"How can a woman expect to be happy with a man who insists on treating her as if she were a perfectly  normal human being?" - Oscar Wilde

That means find someone like this (^) dude. Too many people settle. There's no point.

Choose your love. Love your choice.

....but have fun making "mistakes" along the way.

It's like if Amy Winehouse/Adele had a lovechild, and then made a quartet.
