The trip I'm dying to take with friends this summer
Now I am no Annie Oakley. The thought of spending a week in the woods doesn't appeal to me. BUT. My friends and I have lately been pondering spending a weekend camping in good ol' middle-of-nowhere and I think it sounds SO FUN. Escaping city life with all of your favorite people sounds like bliss. I'm talkin all the classics: s'mores, ghost stories, tents. It's definitely an event on my summer bucket list.

A nifty little hair trick I learned
I was reading Gwyneth Paltrow's newsletter GOOP when I came across a trick for adding serious volume to your hair: when blowdrying, take the front half of your hair (from mid-scalp forward) and brush it over your face, blowdrying it dry as it's covering your face (seriously!) Then when it's dry, finger-comb it into place. Ta-da! Bombshell.

The easiest Memorial Day cocktail, well, ever.
I'm not all that sure of the relevance between Memorial Day and tequila but I'm in that "too poor to match my cocktail to the holiday" category so this two-ingredient margarita is right up my alley. Tequila and lime sorbet, that's all it is! Check out the "recipe" here.

Two perfectly printed shorts, under $30
Well done, Forever 21. Wear either of these with a solid color top or, if you're feeling daring, mix with another print! Just remember: balance is important. If you're wearing a bold print on the bottom, go with a more subdued one up top, and vice versa.

Need: sequin clutch
I live for sequins. I hoard clutches. Yet I have not one sequin clutch. Sense this makes? None. From what knowledge I have, Zara is the best place to buy one under $100 that doesn't look cheapy (the one in the pictures is actually from Zara! $99, but STILL.) Kind of dying for this guy right here.

How do you feel about...
Neon nails? I'll admit I'm not very adventurous in the polish department, I tend to stick to the classic red and corals, maybe paint my ring finger a different color if I'm feeling crazy. I would never think to paint my digits anything fluorescent or neon, but these girls look pretty effortlessly cool.

Office space
Loving these adorable file folders from Kate Spade. Fifteen dollars seems pretty steep for a folder, but can you really put a price on anything that inspires you to be organized? For me, uh, no.
P.S. A little birdie told me (gracias, Maggie!) that Kate Spade is having the mother of all sales this morning. Check it out right hurr.

That time I tried to pretend I knew how to model
I am seriously amazed at some of the talent people my age have. Morgan Neisinger is one of those people. I was invited by Morgan to do a mini photo shoot with my friend Molly (try not being obsessed with her blog) in the heart of downtown Stillwater, my new favorite city. We had SO much fun; Morgan was so good at giving direction and was totally down with whatever you wanted to do ("Can we get a cupcake now?") Though it was a little awkward at times with people walking through downtown in their raincoats and I'm all, "Hi don't mind me in my red lipstick and sequins," and, let's be honest my attempt at a serious face is hysterical—which Molly is fabulous at and I just end up looking drunk—this is something I'll remember forever. Morgan beautifully captured the theme I know Molly and I wanted the photos to have; that it's pretty damn fun to be a girl. Check out the rest of the pictures here.
(PS: Morgan does all types of photography, be sure to take the time to check out her family shoots, engagement sessions, and senior pictures. This girl is UNREAL.)

Life lately, according to my iPhone
Finally coming down from the whirlwind of activity that has soaked up my life these last two weeks. Does it ever happen that when you're so busy for a period of time and then all the sudden everything stops you can't stop feeling like you have a million things to do (but you really don't?) Ugh, it's the worst.
So yes, life has been hectic these last few weeks, but here were some fun moments along the way:
1. How dare I even announce this on a blog that is title-dedicated to my love for cupcakes, but, French macarons have taken over as my favorite dessert. The best ones in the cities are at Sweets Bakeshop and Patisserie 46.
2. This is Sadie. I swear to God, once you own a bulldog, no other pup can capture your heart quite like they can. I will not be argued on this.
3. Drinking an Egg Cream on a sunny Friday afternoon at the most adorable new soda fountain candy shop in St. Paul.
4. Yelp! hosted a Kentucky Derby-esque rendezvous at the swank WXYZ bar in downtown Minneapolis. It was awesome. You can see more pictures here.
5. My new favorite color combo: mint green and bright purple.
6. Sometimes you don't really need that dress, but it's just so summery and perfect you'd be an idiot to pass it up.
7. Was lucky enough to tag along to the opening of the Jonathan Adler store in Uptown (and YES I got to meet him, thanks Lauren!) If you're unfamiliar with Jonathan Adler....educate yo'self.
8. Pretty much the best drink ever at Bradstreet Crafthouse; the La Paloma.

Wine not?
I present to you: STACKED; a bottle of wine that splits into four stemless wine glasses. Running for $15 a bottle (not bad at ALL!), the wine company was founded by three friends who attended business school at UC Irvine and are now headquartered in Newport Beach. Talk about a dream job, huh?
Back to the geniusness. My guess is we're totally going to see more of these popping up all over the place. The convenience for picnics, tailgates, mini hiking trips....just endless. Unfortunately they're only sold in California liquor stores but you can buy it online here.

Dropping a note
Hello! Apologies for my lack of presence around the blog these last few days. I needed to take a few days off after a crazy end to the semester. It's also important to me that every once in awhile I unplug from everything and enjoy the little things. Back to regular programming tomorrow!

THESE NEED TO BE UN-"SOLD OUT" RIGHT NOW
I'm a tish obsessed with anything Astrology; probably because (for the most part) I'm a total to-the-T Cancer. I love collecting out-of-the-ordinary Astrology knick-knacks. Which is WHY I'm so upset these Wildfox Tees are out of stock! Each sign's shirt has a little tongue-in-cheek insight to one of the sign's main traits. Hello, Wildfox, if you're out there, please re-stock these.
