I'm beginning to loathe the term "Parisian-chic" (start reading fashion magazines at a young age and it'll happen) but OH do those French ladies sure know how to dress....side note, I feel like this is a pretty consistent topic on my blog. Oh well. Deal. My blog not yours. 

Inès de la Fressange, a premiere model for Chanel in the 80's, (UMM BEST TIME EVER) has recently written a style guide for all us common folk who just don't have that boatneck-striped T/black skinnies/flats-combo down to a natural science yet. According to Fressange, only eight closet items are necessary to transform you from Average American dresser to French and Fresh. That alliteration was my own. Thank you. 

PS I would officially like to change my name to Liz de la Welle.

Become Parisian-Chic With One Dress

How cute is stylish Parisian Caroline de Maigret? She owns a record label, it's fine. 

While you can't own your own record label (or maybe you can, I'm not trying to know your life), you can own her dress and maybe, just maybe, be as cute as her.  

Wanderlust: Paris

The number one reason I'm motivated to put a few commas in my future paychecks? Travel. "I want to see the world" is one of the most cliche wishes of all time, but think about it. The world holds millions upon millions of beautiful places and life-changing experiences and you only have one life to see it. It's a rush to think about, isn't it? I want nothing more than one day to live in a house where each room is filled with different travel souvenirs; evidence of my stays in foreign cities. 

Stumbling upon Tory Burch's blog post that detailed an "Insiders' Guide to Paris" sparked a huge wave of wanderlust with me. It's a little too small to read here, but if you head over to her page you can check it out. Make sure to scroll through the rest of her blog; it's definitely one of the best to come from a designer. 

French Bachelorette Pad

This is what living in a French château bachelorette pad looks like. Morgane Sezalory works for company French fashion brand Les Composantes and spends a lot of time working from home (home being located in the posh 4th arrondissement) meaning her home is filled with props, shoes and clothes for days. Design*Sponge goes inside every woman's dream home...and life.

Is there anything that sounds better than a lingerie shopping party with your best girlfriends complete with champagne, sweets and the cutest, girliest lingerie you've ever seen? This is what my idea of a stellar bachelorette party looks like. This Studio City, California (real life) boutique is called Faire Frou Frou, and was shot by Sarah Yates for a spread in one of my favorite online magazines, Rue.

Doesn't every girl dream of packing up, moving herself to Paris, and shacking up in a gorgeous pied-á-terre? A cobblestone number built in the 1700's, located on a quiet street but the perfect walking distance from a local market that has world renowned wine & cheese . . . 

. . . I'm really good at day dreaming when I should be studying for tests.

Add this to your dream bucket list! "Starting in January 2012, visitors will be able to spend the night at the Palace of Versailles (the famous residence of Marie Antoinette) when a mansion on the grounds reopens as a hotel. The Hotel du Grand Controle was originally built in the 1680s to house the king’s treasurer and his family. It was abandoned during the French Revolution and has since fallen into disrepair. When it reopens, guests will have the chance to walk through the gardens drinking Champagne and sleep in rooms overlooking the Orangerie." How utterly amazing...
