"Starting in January 2012, visitors will be able to spend the night at the Palace of Versailles (the famous residence of Marie Antoinette) when a mansion on the grounds reopens as a hotel. The Hotel du Grand Controle was originally built in the 1680s to house the king’s treasurer and his family. It was abandoned during the French Revolution and has since fallen into disrepair.
